2023

Here we are, a little over 2 weeks into the New Year! Happy 2023!!

Did you make any resolutions? I understand people's hesitancy at the notion of "New Year, new me" that is so often used to sell gym memberships and the like, but I tend to think of the new year as a time to reset and cultivate behaviors that I want to become regular habits.

I cracked open my journal and January 1 and noted what I wanted to accomplish. Drinking more water and eating more fruits and veggies. Getting on my yoga mat daily...even if it's just for 10 minutes to stretch before bed. Tending to relationships. Keeping my living space tidy so that I can think straight. Updating my blog regularly. Not anything groundbreaking but all the things that will make my life more enjoyable and help my mind, body, and spirit feel their best.

Are there going to be times that I completely miss the mark? Absolutely. Habits are built over time and focusing on what I didn't accomplish rather than what I did and how far I've come will only deter me from moving forward. So keep plugging away. Every day we actually do something important to us is more worthy of our focus than the days we didn't.
